Chattanooga Kiwanis

Kiwanis TV Auction

The 2005 TV Auction was held in Saturday, January 29, 2005 on Fox 61 from 1:00 to 4:00 PM .   Items were listed on the KiwanisTVAuction.org  web starting in January, 2005.  Bidding was available on line as soon as posted as well as by phone during the auction time.

The Kiwanis TV Auction was the major fund-raising project of the club.  The 2005 event  was the twenty-sixth yearly auction.  A number of Chattanooga  businesses help by sponsoring this event and individuals and businesses donate items for the auction.  Each item  has an approximate value of $150 or more, and the donation is made to The Kiwanis Youth Foundation  (a charitable foundation) and is tax deductible according to IRS standards.  A list of the  donated items and their donors was on the web but not in the newspaper.

About sixty Kiwanians and some of their spouses and children as well as members of UTC Circle K assisted at the television station and on the phones.

Another TV Auction is not scheduled at this time because of the proliferation of auctions in this area.
